The textbook for the course is Building Python Programs,* [1st edition](https://www.buildingpythonprograms.com/), by Stuart Reges, Marty Stepp, and Allison Obourn.

For the Summer 2025 section of COMP 170, the book is not required. However, if you plan to take COMP 271 later, some instructors will require the book.
